  4. No explicit tests have been done on version 1.01.000 of PFE to see if it is
  5. Year 2000 compliant, but to the best of my belief no problems will arise.

  7. PFE does not offer date-manipulation features to the user in any form, so there
  8. are no issues relating to how dates are typed or presented.

  10. Internally, PFE's only use of dates and times is in determining whether files
  11. that are being edited have been altered on disk by other applications. It does
  12. this by using the Run Time Library stat() function to obtain the file's "last-
  13. written" time as a binary value, and comparing with a value obtained when the
  14. file was opened. Since the binary patterns are compared without interpretation,
  15. no problems can arise.

  17. PFE is statically-linked with the Run Time Libraries supplied with Microsoft
  18. Visual C++ 1.52 (16-Bit Edition) and with Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 SP2 (32-Bit
  19. Edition) but does not explicitly use any date-handling routines they supply.
